Word of the Day: Obstreperous

on April 3, 2012

I’ve been reading a lot lately. I love reading and I love the library. So many books. So little time. I’m trying to be a little more careful when reading in that I am actually taking the time to learn new vocabulary and look up words. Why not? So, here’s my word of the day:

A crowd leaves the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station ...

A crowd leaves the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station on the Washington Metro on July 4, 2006. The crowd behaves like a granular fluid, and people, having the same aim, are more confined than they would normally choose to be. This induces frustration and loss of manners, possibly up to putting individuals into jeopardy. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

OBSTREPEROUS

It means noisy and difficult to control (according to a Google search of the word)

So great! One new word for my vocabulary and for yours!!!
